EVENT: 3.167 Mile Walkathon (A Walk for our Brethren)
WHEN: October 3rd, 2009, 7:30a.m. - 12:00p.m.
WHERE: Liberian Embassy, 5201 16th. Street, NW Washington DC, 20011
WHY: TO RAISE FUNDS FOR LIBERIAN EMERGENCY AND DISASTER RELIEF VICTIMS.
Volunteer Title: LOGISTICS TEAM
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Steering the walkers on day of walk.
- Traffic Control
- To man the water stations.
- To serve food.
- To register walkers.
- To sell tee-shirts.
- Clean up
Volunteer Title: ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Keep track of pledges, donor and sponsor forms.
- Creation of Program for walkathon
- Develop and distribute letters to sponsors, walkers and donors.
- To create a central db where all contact information for invitees, sponsors, dignitaries will be fed.
*ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL ASSIST WITH EVENT PROMOTION*
- Volunteers needed to help promote the walkathon by distribution of our flyers in their various states at their Churches, Schools, Clubs, Work places, Contacts in their emails, Families, Friends, Grocery stores, Websites, etc. Find out if their offices would allow them to put up fliers. If not, they can talk to their coworkers too. Talk to their church leaders to see if the event can be announced in church.
- Distribute Sponsor/walker/donor forms
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in Event Promotion, Charity Work, Database Management and Microsoft Office Suite. Most of all, we need anyone willing to help.
LENGTH OF TIME COMMITTMENT: CURRENT DATE – October 3rd, 2009
