Donors, members, supporters, and friends, the LEADER Fund would like to thank you for your contributions and support over the past years that have enabled us to successfully support Liberians during disasters and emergencies. Our mission, which is to generate and maximize contributions to mount an effective and rapid humanitarian response to major emergency and disaster situations affecting Liberians, is more challenging with the current harsh global financial climate, yet we persevere because we are dedicated to helping those who cannot help themselves. Your past donations have benefited some unfortunate Liberians and for that we are very grateful.

Please indulge us as we update you on our activities in the last year and a half:

October 2008 - The LEADER Fund made a modest contribution to assist Sackie Nyanquoi’s family with day to day expenses. Sackie is a youth who had acid viciously poured over his body during an armed robbery in Monrovia, Liberia.

December 2008 - The LEADER Fund provided a contribution to a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania family struck by a grave tragedy in which two men, a woman, a teen aged girl, a one year old baby and two other children lost their lives to an explosive fire.

July 2009 - In an effort to maximize the mission of the LEADER Fund in Liberia, we entered into a formal partnership with the Liberian National Red Cross (LNRC).

January 2010 - The LEADER Fund donated some desperately needed medical supplies which included, gauze, salves, wound supplies, and a glucose monitor to Phebe Hospital, in Bong County, Liberia.

Current – We are in the process of establishing a formal relationship with Phebe hospital and its School of Nursing to provide needed medical supplies as well as text books for the nursing students.

In furtherance of communicating our mission to the general public as well as those of other non-profits doing great work in Liberia, we are cordially inviting you to join us for a dynamic Information Session scheduled on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. at the University of the District of Columbia, 4200 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008 in Building #44, Room A03. Free parking is available and the contact number is 202-274-5000.

The program will consist of a lively panel discussion on Environmentally pertinent issues, practical ways we can provide relief, opportunities for volunteering, and how non-profit organizations can collaborate and leverage their resources to more effectively carry out their respective missions. Please visit us at www.leaderf.org to learn more about us.

WE ARE ALSO EXTENDING AN INVITATION TO NONPROFITS INTERESTED IN PROMOTING THEIR MISSION TO SET UP A TABLE AT OUR PROGRAM. Please call 410-795-0534 by or before February 18, 2010 if you would like to participate.
