Meet and Greet/Family Fun Day

In the summer of 2008, the LEADER Fund held its very first fundraiser in Maryland. It was a two day event created to raise awareness of our organization. On June 20th 2008 the LEADER Fund invited guests for a “Meet and Greet” Information Session. Well wishers and guests were given an opportunity to learn more about our organization. We welcomed their questions and suggestions about the direction in which our organization is headed. On June 21st, 2008, we held a “Family and Fun Day” at the park in Prince George’s county where there were soccer games, kick ball games, lots of food. A fun time was had by all, and it gave the LEADER Fund members a chance to know each other better and discuss the future of our organization. |

A Party for a Cause (White & Denim Party)

In the fall of 2008, some members of the LEADER Fund held a second fundraiser in Minnesota; so called “A Party for a Cause. It was a White and Denim affair where renowned comedian Boima Freeman entertained the guests with his comedic talent. Invitees enjoyed lots of good food and drinks that night. And even though the event did not raise as much money as anticipated, it served to raise awareness in the area. We were provided air time and were able to communicate our goals, objectives, and efforts to the listening audience. |
